Captain Delmar arrives at the end of the Prescott Russell Trail on the outskirts of Ottawa minutes after 7:00 p.m. on August 3rd, 2021, having left home in NDG/Montreal at 5:00 a.m. to launch THE FORGET-ME-NOT RIDE.

The Captain's ride 2021

Delmar Medford, the Captain and co-founder of Team Cerulean has committed to and trained each year since the inception of the team to push himself as a Rider. First and twice, from Montreal to Quebec City for the RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER and last year, in our first official event, RISE AND RIDE, for the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation for families living with Sickle Cell.

To kick off THE FORGET ME NOT RIDE for the Native Women's Shelter of Montreal, Delmar rode 200 kms of trail over fourteen hours, from his home in Montreal to Ottawa on August 3rd, 2021.

Training for several months, with practice runs to and from the halfway point, he was very moved when he came upon a small park in Vankleek Hill where a memorial was set out on the steps of the fountain - a devastating reminder of the crimes committed across the Residential School system and the thousands of victims. 💔

Butterflies in a tunnel in Dorion-Vaudreuil and a monarch, one of many Delmar came upon on the trail.
